Bathroom layout

I'm looking to refit my bathroom to include a separate shower (currently over bath).

Pictures of the current room below (no comments on the terracotta, the precious owners did it and actually its grown on me. One of the bathroom guys I had round yesterday took a visible step back 😆).

The room has a biggish window (1.73cm), toilet directly under the window, bath with mixer shower, basin & corner wall unit.

The door is set back down a corridor which also had the radiator in it.

Potential plans and layouts in next post.

Initial thoughts were to move the bath the opposite wall. Will involve reducing the side of the soil stack boxing & also building out slightly as that wall isn't deep enough. I think that works as it will build out to the same depth as the first bit of the corridor, and would enable a narrow fitted cabinet to be built in above the radiator.

1000 x 800 shower where the bath is currently. I was initially thinking of having the long wall built up and a screen across the short wall, rather than a glass side.

Toilet relocated to the side of the shower and basin under the window.

Toilet is the issue, as the soil stack is in the opposite corner, and it would need a bend in the waste.

Other option suggested is to have the toilet & basin in a unit both under the window. If I had this I'd keep the shower as in the plan, so short some fixed & long side with opening. Then probably a towel radiator on that wall.

Any thoughts, other suggestions, things to consider.

Having looked in a showroom I'm not massive taken by the cabinets/furniture options.

Would probably fully tile the shower & around the bath then half tile the rest.

Planning an additional electric shower over the bath as a back up as heating is oil fired combi boiler and if we run out or any issues with it then we have no hot water source.
Have recently had solar installed.

Measurements aren't quite right on the cad drawings, the window is off centre & the opening isn't offset, but it gives the general idea.

Moving toilets is ££. But I do like the plan with the loo and the sink separated. Could you put the basin on the shower wall, and leave the loo under the window?

Would you consider building the wall with the soiled stack out (along the window wall), and putting in those fashionable cubby holes in that wall? Does that even make sense???

We kept the "shelf" at the end of the bath, but it is at sink height, with a counter running across the whole lot - bath foot, sink, loo - all under the window. Not sure that makes sense either, without knowing our bathroom!!! It's basically a narrower version of your sink and loo under the wondow plan - with no separate shower.

Sorry no help, I'm just wondering how you find the current layout as that it almost the same as I am looking at (I'm removing a shower and putting in a bath)

Thanks CatsOnTheChair.
Yeah I know that moving the toilet will add to the cost, but I've lived here 22 years (with the previous owners terracotta bathroom 🤣) and have always hated the toilet being the first thing you see as you go into the room, or past it - as the door is usually open unless in use.
Swapping the loo & basin is an option, just not what I really want to do.

As the wastepipe runs along the wall into the main stack it isn't actually too massive a job, but obviously has a corner in it and a longer run than at present.

I was thinking to box in that wall with a run of cabinets, inset the sink, and the waste would run along the inside. So useful cupboard space rather than cubby holes, although that's an option I hadn't thought of!

Waveifyouknowme the current layout is fine (except not liking the loo placement as being the first thing you see, and due to the corridor into the room it is really the only thing you see as well). I just want a separate shower as well as mainly the room is used for showers as the kids are older.

One thing that is annoying is the toilet roll is on the wall at the back of the toilet, rather than on a 90° wall, and it is a bit of a stretch.
