Side utility/hallway extension

We are hoping to put in a new side extension to replace out current one. We want half to be the utility area and the other half to be the hall for the front door, with a door separating the two halves. Due to the width, the utility area would be single skinned like it currently is, but the front half will have a cavity so be much more insulated.
As the current one was built right up to the neighbours boundary the gutter goes over their side. One option was to look into getting a hidden gutter within the edge of the roof so as to not go over their side.
The other option is to have the roof with a slope on each side with the pitch wherever the door way would be, and the gable would be seen by the neighbour. Does anyone know what this sort of roof is called and any pros and cons for it?
I have found something which shows half of what I am thinking of, and would have it mirrored on the back. We would like to have a similar open porch front and back too.
I hope you understand what it is I am after. If you have any other suggestions I would really welcome them.

It's just a ridge roof

Thank you @Seeline but when I google that I get the usual side extensions, with the gable front and back and the guttering going down the side. I would like to have the guttering front and back and the gable facing the neighbour at the side.

You want the ridge running parallel to the front of the extension rather than running front-to-back.

Like this?

Yes, just like that. Our current one was built right up to the boundary and the gutter goes over next doors property line. They have built a covered lean to on their side up to the boundary, and they are a bit higher than us, so space is very limited.
The original idea was the hidden gutter along the side, but then I thought what about having the roof pitch going the other way so the gutters can be front and back? I would love a porch on the front like on a cottage open oak framed one and I think that could be fitted on the front like you would a dormer window.
Its just knowing the right terminology to ask so if we need an architect then they will know what we are after.

Just show them pictures of similar designs. They should be able to work out what you mean just from your description - I did and I'm not an architect, although used to dealing with plans. They will do little sketches during your initial chat (or the should do) to make sure that you are talking about the same things, before going away to draw up some designs.
The only issue with the type of roof you want will be the height, and what you have in your flank wall already - will it interfere with eg landing windows etc?
If you explain the problems that you have re the boundary, it is the architect's job to come up with the solutions. They may have other ideas to consider.

@Seeline Brilliant, thank you for your help. I've already been thinking of where the highest point will be, if the roofs will be different lengths etc. Glad it's potentially a viable option
