HILarys blinds curtains will they repair them?

I bought curtains for bifold windows. They are very heavy due to the size. They were installed on 31 march and today they fell down and pulled small holes of plaster to the floor. The poll tract that Hilary’s charged £150 also bent due to weight of curtains. Would this be covered by Hilary’s guarantee will they come and replace them? Is this considered a fault. Surely if the curtains are too heavy for the pole etc they should advise ? Thanks

Of course they will, it’s definitely an error on their part that they need (and will) rectify.

What sort of pole was it? Most come supplied with a weight advisory and this should be available on their website if it came from them.

I work in the soft furnishing trade, and would say that £150 for a pole sounds horribly cheap.

I presume that they would tell you if the material is suitable.
they are the experts I was paying for the service because I am not good at DIY or know much about curtains

this is the pole tract

They picked the tract I didn’t pick it . I just picked the colour of fabric.

I have read some mixed reports about how helpful Hillary’s is. So wanted to know if people agree this is an error I can insist they fix.

If they selected the track and fitted it, then yes absolutely they are liable for the weight not being supported.

Is it plastic or metal?

Nogg · 11/08/2023 21:00

It’s metal

We had this exact issue. They got a second fitter to come out and look and he agreed that the previous fitter had totally bodged it (he had screwed the metal track into the ceilings without using any kind of wall plugs and they just sheered out). The second fitter came back the following week and fixed them. No cost to us at all and they could not have been more apologetic.

That is hopefull then. I was worried because of the time but it’s only 4.5 months .
the tract is bent now though so I think this will also need replaces

I think ours was a similar timeframe, maybe January to May?
