wood floor or tiles with height difference??

Hi

Im currently turning the space under the stairs (very small) into a downstairs toilet.

I either have wooden floorboards like the rest of downstairs or we have tiles but there would be a height difference with this.

I really want tiles as the space is rather compact so i was thinking tile the entire space to add a bit style plus easier to clean but the floor difference is putting my off?

Anyone else have a height difference, does it matter??

Thanks!

We used to have tiled floor in our old kitchen, which was slightly higher than wooden floor in the adjoining room. We had a so called variable height threshold bar fitted to cover the "step" and hardly noticed it.
It looked something like this - this is just an example, they are avaialble in all sorts of colours and materials (metal, wood effect, etc.)

I wouldn't go for wood because people miss the loo and that seeping in could reek.

Surely there must be some way to heighten the floor?
