Flooring - suggestions for robust, economical wood/wood-effect

Hello - we are renovating a house, potentially to sell or rent out, and need flooring - I would like dark oak (wood or some sort of material that is a very good wood facsimile), very robust and hardwearing, suitable for kitchens (so water resistant), and as economical as possible.

I know there might be a lot of new materials in the flooring market that I am unaware of. I would be very grateful for any suggestions. Thank you in advance!

LVT…my architect is disgusted we are not getting real wood but we are a horror show of clumsiness and my nerves couldn’t bear to watch my family members accidentally maul beautiful real wood floors. Going for Amtico Signature range. It’s not cheap but should last and I think looks great

I have 20 btl houses. I always tile kitchen floors. In the sitting room and dining room good quality laminate. I use directwoodflooring.co.uk because it is good quality. I put a large rug down on top in the sitting room. I carpet bedrooms, landing and stairs in a dark charcoal colour.
