Buying a home on my own.

Long story short, I have spent 6 years building my credit back up after leaving a bad relationship with a lot of debt. Now debt free and wanting to buy a house on the next year.
however, DP is horrendous with money, has around 26000 of debt and defaults on payments etc.
we wouldn’t be able to get a mortgage together.
my salary is £30000 and I have a deposit of approx £30000.
there are shared equity schemes in Scotland I could use to buy a home on my own and would be around £200000.
is this really possible or just a pipe dream?
also would you get a solicitors agreement saying the property is mine and DP has no claim on it? I am putting up the full deposit which is partially from my fathers death.
I wouldn’t expect DP to contribute to the house at all for fairness but will expect him to share utilities and shopping etc.
I want to leave the house to the kids and would have a watertight will for this. The kids are not all DP children so I want to protect their money.
thanks for reading.
