What is it like living in Osterley/Isleworth?

My husband has suggested that we start to look for properties in this area, as it cheaper than buying in Chiswick?
Over the coming weeks we will start to look around the area and Google nurseries and schools. We have a 2 year old.
Thanks

It's fantastic. I don't live there now (trying to come back) but fantastic links to the city and further out. Friendly childhood area with lots to do and great schools! Hospital very close too!

MIL lived in Isleworth for a while. Sometimes there was quite a lot of plane noise, but I loved the area.

The planers go over every 45 seconds in peak time and start at 4:35am. It can be pretty to watch them lined up in the sky but very noisy. Tube-wise, some late night trains terminate at Acton or Northfields so it can be a palaver but there is the H91 bus and the overground as well. Individual house gardens are large, Syon and Osterley parks are nearby and you have the A4 and M4 on your doorstep (possibly literally) so there is easy access to drive out if London for more greenery.

I had a one bed flat in Chiswick (loved it) then bought 2 bed house with DH in Isleworth (his choice more than mine). We have now moved away before DS started school, as I don't think we would have found one suitable. Things may have changed now - schools are certainly something I would consider checking out before moving to the area. PP is right also about the planes, you can wave to the pilots and big ones shook the house and they do start at 4.30am, but they alternate between the north & south flight paths so you get a break. Other than that lovely area! However, with hindsight I would have gone more Kingston way.

Thank you for your comments. I will definitely look at local schools as that is really important for us. Not sure I like the idea of planes shaking the house though lol

I could not live in Isleworth due to the airplane noise. It was the worst decision of my life to try and live in Isleworth.
