Removing bath film

I cannot remove the bastard protective film from the bath for love nor money. Have tried internet tips of heating with hairdryer (just made it stickier when you get it off) and filling the bath with hot water (same).

It comes off in teeny tiny pieces if you scrape it with your nails (too scared to scrape with much more).

I have an unusable bath and will have to postpone the final finishing items booked in for next week as I can't have the bloody thing silicone sealed to the wall like this.

Mixture of fuming and panicking if you can't tell AngryConfused

Can you contact the company and ask for advice? Maybe its due to the way it's been stored in their warehouse or something

I did ask the company but they are crap (Victorian Plumbing...) and they haven't replied.
Help me someone 😆😂

The company say they'll send a replacement bath but not contribute towards the removal replacement and retailing costs- despite admitting it's their issue at production point and agreeing that their instructions say to not remove the film until it's fitted. WWYD? Rip the bath out and cause a load of extra costs or stick with a crappy film in the bath and hope to gradually pick it off over the years?

What happens to the film if you fill the bath with hot water?

It's gets sort of stickier and still comes off in tiny fragments, but they stick like the stuff you get stuck on kids magazines to hold the toy in 🤪

Surely this falls under not fit for purpose and you can get your cc company to charge back the whole amount?

But then you have to find another matching bath without this problem, I guess.

Get them to send you a new bath , don’t fit it and then sell it . I’d just persevere with and do a few square cms a day. You’ll soon get through it.
