Is Sidcup (DA14) nice area to live?

Hi,

We currently live in Blackheath but looking to buy in Sidcup (Longmead Drive to be specific) - close to Albany Park Station and Foots Cray Meadows.

Does anyone know if this part of Sidcup is nice? Troubled area? We don’t mind the Suburbia concept but would be great to get views if anyone knows the area well

I am meant to be moving to Sidcup soon but am so worried now since the recent assault in a Greek restaurant and a mirder outside a pub in Sidcup.
I am an older lady

I haven’t heard about the murder outside a pub but I’m not very local. The Greek restaurant does attract a certain crowd and this incident was a young man from in the restaurant assaulted by others from in the restaurant outside in the road late at night. It’s very easy to avoid.

I’d say most London crime of this sort centres around clubs/pubs with younger people in and is usually late at night. Sidcup seems to be a safe place on the whole (by London standards).
