Peeling valspar paint - what do I do??

I have painted my kitchen with Valspar premium kitchen & bathroom paint.

I cleaned the walls with sugar soap before, I then wiped that down with clean water and allowed it to dry before painting. It’s now bubbled above where the kettle is and you can very easily scratch it off in all other places with a light fingernail. I’m beyond pissed off.

It’s not particularly cheap paint at £40 for 2.5ltrs plus the time spent. I’ve never had paint do this. Going to contact B&Q but what do I do about it now?

Do I scrape it off? Sand it? I’ve no clue and I’m really fed up. It looked lovely for about a day. 😩

Valspar in my experience has been poor quality we used the premium one
Johnston or Dulux trade is better quality
you will have to sand it lightly and paint again I think also could it be adhesion is not good , perhaps you can do a base coat we use ronseal three in one but for absolute guarantee you can use zinsser primer before painting

Your problem is you used a cheap paint.
Sand, zinsser, and a name brand paint.

Same happened to me. I sanded it down, polyfilled the gap, sanded that and then repainted with very thin, feathered coats.

Then NEVER bought valspar again!

Valspar - just look around for reviews - I rubbed down and painted 8 cupboard doors - flor to ceiling height - the Valspar never really hardened off - you can scratch it off with a fingernail - I used the right primer etc - Valspar were no help at all; never again. Great colours and colour mixing/matching but a terrible quality paint.

I don’t want to have to paint it all again 😩 But I will because it’s going to look scrappy in no time. At least my kitchen is small.
I don’t think £40 for 2.5ltrs is particularly cheap @Ilovefishcakes201 I should have stuck with F&B or Little Greene, never had a problem with either in my kitchen or bathroom or had to do a primer.

Thanks for all your posts, glad it’s not just me.

I had exactly this with Dulux kitchen and bathroom. The additive that makes it waterproof reduces the adhesion.
