Hi all

I'm a first time buyer and have had damp noted by a surveyor that performed a full structural survey. There is a small amount of internal staining at the bottom of the wall by the patio door and also at the top of the wall in the bathroom. The surveyor has stated he thinks the damp in the kitchen is caused by cracked rendering and the bathroom could be due to poor ventilation.

I was hoping for some opinions as to what could be causing the damp and whether I should renegotiate some money off the price? Would you ask the vendor to repair the leaking pipe?

Any advice would be much appreciated. I've attached some photos from the survey.

No idea about the render, but that pipework is hilarious. I would definitely insist on that being fixed.

Thanks! I've asked them to fix the piping before exchange and will get a damp survey. I'll post the results here to hopefully get some more opinions

Where is the damp proof course level?
What’s under the decking? Where are the airbricks? Or is it solid floors?
Why is the decking at floor height? You usually step up into a house, so the ground level is usually lower than the flor height.
