Twickenham or Richmond

HI there, we are moving from Seattle, USA to England July 12th. Have a couple short term homes we are looking at until we find a long term lease/buy. Would love feedback on: Strawberry Hill area of Twickenham vs. Richmond Hill.

Problem being we ideally want to buy in Richmond so would love to stay there, but the flat is only partially furnished, we would need all basics.
The house in Strawberry Hill area is fully furnished and turn key, but further out.

I'm wondering if the location of Strawberry Hill is still a good one for our temp home?
Thank you.

Strawberry hill is a nice area and it might be a good idea to get to know other areas a bit before buying in Richmond - you never know where you might end up. Do you have school or transport constraints? If you’re close enough to twickenham station trains should be easy; they’re ok from strawberry hill but there aren’t as many.

Richmond Hill is a lot nicer than sStrawberry Hill, with prices to match. It depends on your budget. Parking on Richmond Hill is a nightmare though if you don't have off street parking

Having lived in the general area for some time I would say download the Flightradar24 app and look at the place with the least aircraft noise.

It massively depends on whether you need to commute for work and where to. As pp says, SH isn’t very well connected. Richmond Hill is better on that front.

Have you looked at rentals in St Margarets and East Twickenham? Both lovely areas, a few bus stops from Richmond station if you commute or a short walk across Richmond bridge.
They are near the river and Marble Hill Park where you can catch a ferry over to Petersham meadows and Richmond Park. Lots of local shops and nice cafes etc.
Well worth a look. I was born and grew up in Richmond and much as I love it, I'm moving soon to Twickenham.

And I meant to add there's a rail connection at St Margarets for slow trains into Clapham Junction/Waterloo.

If you have to commute into London, I would always choose Richmond because you have so many more options. Plus there are more facilities in the town centre.
