Does this sound about right for architect?

We are planning on doing a few small things to our house, detailed below, and have been quoted roughly £3k plus Vat by an architect, I’m just interested to see if that seems about right. It’s split into two stages - first drawings to obtain planning (2k ish) then building regs (1k ish).

  • block in external door currently in the kitchen & put in bifolds along a different wall (probably don’t technically need an architect for this?)
  • put external door in what was the downstairs bathroom (now an empty room) and create a utility (again, do we actually need an architect?)
  • squeeze in a cloakroom in a space in the hallway
  • convert garage to bedroom and extend small box room over the top

Any experience on whether this price is reasonable would be great.

Thanks

You don’t need an architect for that, you need a draughtsman who is used to planning/building control regulations in your area. We’re having a much bigger project done and our drawings are coming in under £2k.

For context we were quoted closer to £4-5k by an architect for the same project.

That’s interesting thank you.
Will looks up draughtsmen.

Google architectural technologist in your area.

I paid about £5k for a ground floor and loft last year
