Offer accepted, solicitors instructed, what now?

I had an offer accepted on Friday, instructed solicitors over the weekend (via online form, was sent an automated confirmation email from them accepting me if you know what I mean) but haven't heard anything from a real person.

Mortgage broker calling today so we can decide which lender to go with. (Have given all financial info ect already)

Estate agents been given ids, proof of funds ect but haven't heard anything since.

I know it's not even been a week but what should I expect now? I assumed the solicitors would need some sort of paperwork filled in? If you haven't already guessed we are FTB.

Ring them (solicitor, EA) and ask what's happening and what's happening next (and when).

You should be sent a memorandum of sale that comes from the EA and goes to all parties. The Solicitor will send you info and ask for money for searches to be carried out then it is waiting for your sellers to return their forms like fixtures and fitting etc. Your Solicitor will raise a set of enquiries with the buyers / buyers solicitors and have to gain records from land registry. It is all a long bloody process and weeks go by where you here nothing, enquiries can go back and forth. I am 8 weeks into buying mine and still waiting for first set of enquiries to go out on my purchase as there was a delay with some land registry form - you need the patience of a saint and nerves of steel for house buying in this country! You will be asked to sign loads of forms too. My sale is progressing ok with 16 initial enquiries and a second lot of 3 raised this week.......Good luck 😫

Book a homebuyers or structural survey depending on the age of the house.
