Still not settled in , wait it out or move

Moved nearly 2 years ago, from midsize town to suburbs of City. Was very excited to move somewhere bigger, with a better lifestyle.

Don't regret the move here, and overall lifestyle is better. But I really haven't settled in the house or area at all. It was still when all the mad rush of housing was going on so the house was very much a settling for what was available, not somewhere I loved.

The area is okay. The house is okay. The neighbours are nice enough. There's nothing specifically bad, but feels like I just settled for second best all the time.

Anyone else feel or felt like this? Not sure if I should wait it out a bit more or just look to move now, but the downside is the market here is very slow. Was hoping it might pick up a bit again next year but who knows.

What's wrong with the place? Until you can work that out, you won't be able to decide where to move next time either. You could even end up somewhere with bad neigbours, or any other problems you don't have now. If it's just feeling you were bounced into it, then it ought to have worn off by now- so why hasn't it? Only you can answer those questions.
I suppose you could look on rightmove and the like and see if there is anything you can afford that you like, then compare it/them with where you are and try to get to the bottom of what's different- is it the house, maybe you want something more quirky, or older, or some specific thing you dont have now, which maybe you could even do to your current house, or is it you being unrealistic about what you could ever have afforded, or have you just got stuck into a 'grass is always greener' mindset?
We lost a house we were going for and had to find one in double-quick time, we ended up buying in a place I had absolutely ruled out when we first looked. Though I suppose we were 'bounced' into it in a way, I still didn't get the feeling you seem to have.
