What type of tradesperson?

We need some work in our utility room, and I’m not sure what type of tradesperson to look for.

There’s a short run of counter, with a central sink and cupboard underneath, with spaces for washer and dryer. The whole thing needs to be replaced.

We asked a major kitchen retailer, but they weren’t interested because it’s too small a job.

I know the answer is probably “contact a local independent tradesperson”, but what type? Kitchen fitter? Plumber? Joiner?

As it’s such a small job, we’re really looking for one person to handle the whole job (including ripping out the old section) and don’t want to be coordinating between a plumber and a carpenter for example. We also would like someone to source the materials, and not have to do a B&Q run ourselves.

What would you Google?

TIA

Are you on Facebook? The local town pages are good for this sort of thing.
Or trust a trader?
I would look for general handyman - you will find one that can do plumbing and carpentry.

Kitchen fitter, they're usually joiners with enough knowledge/experience to do minor plumbing, especially if the copper pipework is all in the right place and they just need to do connections to the sinks, washer, etc which will almost certainly be adequately done using plastic connections. Though plenty of kitchen fitters will also do minor copper pipework changes/extensions etc if necessary. As long as there's no gas involved, a plumber (Gas Safe) isn't really necessary for a typical small kitchen/utility room like for like replacement.

I phoned my local plumber who said he had a worktop fitter and could do that type of thing but the guy was off sick so I didn’t progress work.

Basically phone people and get quotes. Kitchen fitters or plumbers. You may find one is waaay dearer than the other or whatever.

My husband is a handyman and can do all the things you need.

Just just finished a 2yr renovation. Our carpenter had also done kitchens/utilities so fitted ours.

The plumber wouldn't even install the shower screens- so the carpenter did those too!

We used a small local fitted kitchen company for utility

Chap near us advertises he specialises in fitting worktops- but IIRC the ad was in the local free town mag, I just looked him up online from there. I'll be asking his to do ours when we have finished the kitchen (floor has yet to go down, so units not yet in their final places).
