unfortunately a stone cracked the patio window when the grass was getting cut. Double glazed window. Do you think it is ok to wait a few days to have it fixed as only one layer of glass broken. I want to get some quotes. I know it needs fixing as soon as poss. Security wise house is alarmed.

Totally fine.

I remember this happening at my parents and they definitely didn't get it fixed immediately. Just make sure no one leans against it! My mum was at home all day though so the house wasnt ever empty.

Thanks for your replies. No one will be leaning against it!

Can you claim on house insurance if it's going to cost a lot?

KievLoverTwo · 01/06/2023 21:09

How annoying and expensive. Maybe put some masking tape on both sides if you have any.

We’ve done this three times - all different windows …

Always claimed on the insurance so far and all its cost us is the £100 excess . Each patio door and a kitchen window .

Now he does it with a push mower !

They came and secured it for us till they fixed it and it was fine .

I have house insurance. I understand it is a common thing!
