Anyone got a wood pellet boiler?

Just that really!
Have found our dream house and it has a wood pellet boiler. Not something I know anything about.
There is a fair bit to do on the house and changing the boiler would mean this is out of our budget.
It is a largish Victorian property.
Interested in knowing how effective they are, how reliable and how easy to use.
All help gratefully received.

You might get a better response posting in rural instead of property/DIY.

Just moved into a house with one - we really like it, so far!

Very effective (although our house is much smaller than yours), very easy to use but too soon to say how reliable it is.

You'd want to order a tonne at a time so you need somewhere to store your bags.

How old is it?

Thank you.
I believe it is around 4 years old. There is a cellar so room to store loads of pellets.

I wouldn't personally. If there were any unexpected supply issues, you'll be screwed!

Imagine if everyone had one... there'd be no trees left

We had a tiny Italian one installed in a mountain topfloor apartment because chimneys did not make code. Very pleasant to have a source of local heat and a flame! We only use it when it is very cold or for pleasure to supplement central gas heating. We buy pellets by the bag. ( 15kg) . We do have family who heat the entire house/chalet with a bigger model. They usually are automatized with thermostat.
They are much cleaner than a regular woodburning fire and consume virtually all the product which is 100% compressed sawdust. It smells very good, without the smoke. I have some Canadian friends too who use this method for heating homes.
Hope this helps.
