If you were my shower pump, where would you be?

Possibly a stupid question, but our electric shower pump has stopped working, and I've realised I don't even know where it is.

We're in a flat so there's no loft, nothing apart from the cylinder in the airing cupboard, nothing obvious that I can see anywhere else, but in fairness I'm not even sure what I'm looking for.

We turned the whole electric circuit off briefly yesterday as we were changing some light switches so we think (but aren't 100%) that it's probably related to that.

I don't want to call an electrician on a bank holiday, so resorting to the internet for guidance first.

If the shower is over a bath, can you remove the bath panel and check under the tub? We had our bathroom redone recently and that’s where the installer put all the shower gubbins.

I've no idea how but will find out! Thanks.

I think it depends on if it's a positive or negative pressure system. I've had one in the loft before, and another at the bottom of the hot water cylinder.
Is it definitely a pump fed shower and not a normal electric wall shower ?

In my last house, the pump was under the floorboards outside the bathroom door.

QueSyrahSyrah · 29/05/2023 14:23

Yes definitely pump fed. Hoping it's not under the floorboards. DH is out at the moment so will wait for him to return before I start ripping the bathroom apart.

Mine have always been either in the loft or airing / hot water cupboard.

It was under the bath and the breaker switch had flipped when we'd killed the power.

Two second job for DH, he's now feeling very manly 😂

Where does the pump noise come from all of mine have been found by following the noise.

It wasn't making the noise because the power had gone, otherwise that would have been what I did Grin
