5 weeks in, no survey

I accepted an offer on 21st April.
Hadn't heard a peep out of EA since offer and giving solicitors details.
My solicitor has said they are waiting fir enquiries.
Finally called EA last week and they said buyers mortgage offer had been sent through.

However, nobody has come around to do a survey or book one.
This is making me a bit nervous as I thought surveys were usually booked ASAP.
Even if they'd booked and it was in a few weeks surely, they'd have contacted me.

I also have a flat roof on my extension!

Ah sorry to worry you - I'm sure it will be ok; flat roofs esp on extensions are very common and usually fine! Our house is quirky and the buyer was nervous from the start.

You are in a better position than us because we foolishly found a property before a buyer and hopelessly attached to it already Hmm luckily our sellers are very lovely and held on for us.

I would just ask the EA what the plan is; as PP have said they might not be getting one. Our first flat sale buyers never bothered.

No, It's fine Egg. That's what I'd been thinking anyway and which is why I've not been too serious about finding somewhere myself. Once a survey had been done and they were happy, then I could have relaxed a bit.

I wouldn't worry about FENSA certificates, DP recently sold a house without any and it wasn't a problem, the buyer was just told they'd have to rely on their survey.

We could get an indemnity policy right?

@Sittingonasale We didn't need to, just said we didn't have them. I've only provided a certificate for the French doors on my house and it hasn't been queried.

Oh fair play. Can I ask how long yours took from accepting offer?

DPs house took around 10 weeks from offer to completion but that was over the winter, he completed in February.

I'm 9 weeks from accepting an offer and hopeful of agreeing in the next week or so that we're ready to discuss a target date for exchange.
