How to use a shower that's not been used for months?

We have a shower that hasn't been used for about 8/9 months.
How do we get it working safely again so we can use it with regards to legionnaires?
I don't know how to go about it as I want it to be safe.
Thanks

Turn on at full temperature. Shut door, pop fan on and run for 5 minutes. Sane again with the cold tap. Leigionella only grows in the stagnated water between 20 & 45 degrees anything over that will kill it. Anything under will cause it to lie dormant. By flushing it out you release it as an aerosol whereby it can be inhaled, that's why it is important to ventilate the area.

But also note, legionella is unlikely to cause any issues to a healthy person and for some reason is less likely to affect women.

Good practice for little used outlets is to flush weekly for 2 minutes hot and cold.

Replace the shower head too

Run all the taps for five minutes, the hot on hot. That's seriously all that is needed.

Also do not let it steam. If you have a window you can open whilst the hot tap is running and clean out the shower head
