I drive by this house everyday. It is the size of a single garage with a small extension. I have always been curious to see what it is like inside!

Not sure that I will be bidding!!

It sold at auction for £154,000. 14K over the guide. Now up for £250k.

Wow! That is an incredible profit margin. Chelmsford is quite expensive because of its good transport links and this is in a great location.

I'm not quite sure who they're marketing it at - a very small and anti social person who doesn't want neighbours or a commuter who literally wants nothing more than a place to sleep?

You can't even stand up upstairs. No idea where you would store clothes.

And you’d have to sit down in the bath to have your shower!
I also clocked the total inability to put a wardrobe anywhere (unless you want to block your window).
But at least ‘there’s off road parking for TWO cars’ yay!

JobMatch3000 · 10/10/2023 23:33

They have stocked up on toilet roll though.

LNY1986 · 11/10/2023 00:04

Just read through the property description.

The estate agents call it 'impressively spacious'!

They also describe it as 'unique' 😂

They want anything from £250,00-£275,000 !

Theraffarian · 11/10/2023 08:27

Oooh interesting , overpriced now though , This is one of a few one bedroom houses around the area in a similar price range although this is the other side of town , and £30k less .

Is it just me or does that decking look in danger of making the house rather damp , it seems very high up to the back door .

I went to see this property yesterday, I am considering buying it.

Its freehold, so better then a lease hold flat, and it has space to add to it. I am just trying to find out more about installation.

I have builders in the family so I would probably remove the door at the front, and add some gates. It’s a cute little property.

SallyWD · 18/11/2023 16:15

I like it. If I lived alone I can imagine living there with my cat. However, you wouldn't pay £250,000 for it, would you? You could get so much more for your money.

LozengeShaped · 18/11/2023 16:34

LittleMissBliss1 Are actually selling the property???😂

GasDrivenNun · 18/11/2023 16:53

Pity whoever did the refurbishment didn't improve the Energy Performance it's appalling.

LittleMissBliss1 · 18/11/2023 19:28

Yeah that’s incorrect apparently. IT’s performance D

LittleMissBliss1 · 18/11/2023 19:29

No, buying

LittleMissBliss1 · 18/11/2023 19:32

You could at leasehold, but a leasehold you pay service charge which goes up and you can’t do anything with it. If it’s freehold you are not held at will to pay over the odds.
I looked at one flat that had a service charge of 4K a year with no pets!
In Chelmsford there is very little. In fact there is very little anywhere

MaggieFS · 18/11/2023 21:18

Blimey that's a hell of a mark up for a largely cosmetic job. Apart from new boiler/heating and a bit of boxing in cupboarding around the boiler. It's all just clean and paint. Same kitchen cupboards, same bathroom suite. Oh, new worktop, oven and hob.

I'd want to be very sure the mould was dealt with, but decent heating might do that.

But I wouldn't buy it because I don't think you can stand up for a decent shower.

Credit where due, it's been done well, but thats a whopping profit margin.

LittleMissBliss1 · 19/11/2023 08:18

I would definitely make a smaller offer, I mean that’s standard right 🙂

Open to suggestions! Haha

its all be fine we’ll, smells new and yes I would need to add fitted cuboards, and I don’t shower I bath anyway 😂

I do have a shortlist of other properties but I think it’s the freehold that your paying for.
