Where next after the UK?

Greetings fellow MNetters! I've asked chatGPT this question:

Hi! We are a couple that could work from anywhere. We are both EU citizens. We are expecting a baby. We currently live in the UK and find it too expensive. Where should we move that has good healthcare, affordable living, good infrastructure, accessible nature and good food and climate? It should also be a good place to raise a child.

This is what the mighty über-bot came back with:

"Congratulations on your upcoming arrival! As EU citizens, you have a lot of options when it comes to moving abroad. Here are some countries to consider based on your requirements:

  1. Portugal - Portugal is a great option for affordable living and a great quality of life. The healthcare system is also very good, and the weather is generally mild year-round. The country is also known for its beautiful beaches and countryside, making it a great place to enjoy nature. The food is excellent and there are many child-friendly activities to enjoy.
  2. Spain - Spain is another great option for affordable living, excellent healthcare, and a great quality of life. The climate is generally warm and sunny, and the food is delicious. There are also many child-friendly activities to enjoy, such as beaches, parks, and museums.
  3. Italy - Italy is known for its beautiful scenery, amazing food, and rich cultural heritage. The healthcare system is also very good and affordable living can be found outside of the big cities. The climate varies depending on where you live, but the country is generally warm and sunny.
  4. Croatia - Croatia is a great option for families looking to enjoy nature and a laid-back lifestyle. The healthcare system is good, and the cost of living is affordable. The climate is generally mild, and the country is known for its beautiful coastline and national parks.
  5. Slovenia - Slovenia is a hidden gem in Europe, offering beautiful scenery, excellent healthcare, and a great quality of life. The country is also very safe and has a good education system. The cost of living is affordable outside of the capital city, and the climate is generally mild.
Overall, all of these countries offer great options for families looking for affordable living, good healthcare, accessible nature, and great food. It is recommended to visit and spend some time in these places before making a decision."

What are your opinions on the topic? Any alternatives? Any insight into the 5 proposed places?

Thanks to everyone!

I think you might be better off finding for UK ex-pat forums to ask this question.

Thanks @KievLoverTwo ! I'll google some forums!

Do you speak any other languages? I cannot stress enough how difficult it is to get by in day to day life if you don't. Even things like getting your hair cut or understanding the bills.

@MissAmbrosia I happen to speak the language in one of the 5 countries mentioned. I know that should make it a simple decision, but I have some misgivings about moving exactly there. You are right, the language is a huge discomfort. We've both learned one additional European language during our adulthood, but don't see it as an easy task. Spain might have extra points here as the language should at least be the easiest of the 5 to learn.
