I can install it myself, just buy the kitchen materials, which shop is the best choice? Thanks

Not Wren.

Never Wren.

There are Facebook groups about them.

imiami · 30/04/2023 12:45

Thanks, which shop do you recommend?

Howdens. Definitely not Wren.

wonkylegs · 30/04/2023 12:52

Depends on your budget but clients have had really good kitchens (good balance of price & quality & transparent pricing) from DIY kitchens and IKEA (be careful which doors you choose some are terrible for marking but otherwise quality is good)

PinkFootstool · 30/04/2023 12:53

Ours is B&q and perfectly decent.

Wren are shocking on price. Good for getting a design though 😂

MrMarkham · 30/04/2023 12:54

Howdens only deal with trade so no go if you're installing yourself

imiami · 30/04/2023 13:20

Wren quote me 26000 with installation ,

I was very happy with Wickes - after 5 years no sign of wear and tear

beachmum1 · 30/04/2023 13:32

We loved our DIY kitchen, went with the Norton range

imiami · 30/04/2023 13:35

DIY kitchen, is it the shop name?

OP posts:
IggysPop · 30/04/2023 13:43

Yup - DIY Kitchens. We have installed them twice. Once really good back in 2015 (we did it) - looked great. One by a carpenter and was amazing as he had the skills to make adjustments etc.

Made by the same manufacturers that supply all the big names.

(I really dislike Howdens kitchens)

carriedout · 30/04/2023 13:44

My last kitchen was B&Q, it was perfectly decent.

At the end of the day units are just units - I think it is the work top, flooring, tiling, accessories that make the difference.

We're having a Wickes kitchen installed and have the cupboards in, just have to finish off with worktops, tiling. The designer was brilliant as is the builder and we have so much more storage place, as if by magic. The quality seems very good compared to others that we viewed

Harebrain · 30/04/2023 13:44

Another vote for Wickes. We fitted one in our previous property and were so happy with it that we bought another for our current home. It’s been in for 5 years now and still looks great. My niece had a Wren kitchen fitted 3 years ago and the colour is fading on some of the cupboard doors.

Yes, only one and it’s near Pontefract in West Yorkshire. We’ve been 3 times before ordering our kitchen - it’s 90 minutes from us but I wouldn’t have wanted to buy without seeing it.

AlwaysGinPlease · 30/04/2023 16:00

Howdens never ever Wren!

Reasonableadjustments · 30/04/2023 16:08

Cannot recommend wren at all.

Not sure where you are but apparently DIY Kitchens are opening another showroom in Oxford in the summer

imiami · 30/04/2023 16:49

thanks I'm not far from Oxford, but I can't wait till summer.

Wren quoted me £15k without installation. We spent £4k at B&q without installation.

Wren are absolutely shockingly priced and I can't believe people buy from them!

imiami · 30/04/2023 18:55
