Extending lowered kerb/need for drainage

I've applied to have my lowerd kerb extended to the full length of my drive, but the local council have said I'll need to add drainage/soak away first. This sounds like an expensive piece of work! Does anyone have any experience of having this done? My drive is concrete and quite old with a few cracks/lines in it. I have a feeling that the cost of this drainage will cost more than lowering the kerb! Any advice will be much appreciated, so thanks in advance!

A friend of ours has a grassed drive made up of these grids which you bury, that stop the car sinking but allow the rain to soak in. Maybe that would be a solution?

We had one added as part of having our drive redone. It was more than a full day's labour for two people, with a digger. They had to dig a channel along the front, put in the drain and then also dig down to connect it to our drain which was about 2 feet down in the middle of our drive. The drain was about £150, plus the labour, plus a lot of repaving, and making good the tarmac at the front. Was a lot more involved that I realised

Ohh thanks, I'll look into that! Sounds like it could be a cheaper solution!
