A pale pink wall paint that isn’t too blue? 🌸(With photos)

I’m looking for a really lovely blossom pale pink for a small room (study) that is ENE facing.

I got a tester of Homebase Angel Pink but it feels like it’s a little bit too blue.

(I would have tried some Dulux/Crowne testers etc too but they didn’t have any suitable.)

Can anyone recommend a pale pink that is just a touch warmer please? Thank you

I have F&B Pink Ground in my daughter’s room. Not blue at all.

LadyDanburysHat · 20/04/2023 09:40

I have F&B Calamine in my hall. It's a lovely colour. We got it colour matched at Johnstones

We have Valspar “woke up like this” on the walls in our bedroom. The chip reads a little orange but in our west facing, one smallish window room it’s the most beautiful cherry blossom pink.
Like anything though, it really does depend on the light. What way does the room face? How many windows? Paint can look very different in different settings.

Crown creme de la rose

I have dulux pretty pink and B&Q blush in different rooms of my house. Neither have any blue tones.
pretty pink is more of a milkshake, bright pink and the blush is paler and more delicate.

JennieTheZebra · 20/04/2023 09:50

Just spotted that the room is ENE facing. Anything north facing needs substantially more red to even out the blue. I would go for a paint that reads more salmon/coral in the tester than you would want on the walls. A “true pink” is going to read blue in a north facing room, no matter what you do. The other issue is that, as the room is east facing, you’ll only have decent sunlight in the morning. If you use the room later in the day I would go for something a bit warmer, otherwise it’s going to feel very cold.

dulux heritage powder

Setting Plaster by F&B goes with everything. It’s a warm pink. I’ll post a pix!

Just realised my lampshade is not straight!

OnMyWayToSenility · 20/04/2023 10:10

Try nancys blushes by valspar in b&q

We have a pink ne/n living room too, it's a lovely pink! Works well with white ceiling and cornicing.

OnMyWayToSenility · 20/04/2023 10:14

Just looked it up and I may have got that wrong!? Unless f&b gave ripped off the name 🤣 I used it 7 years ago!

Mycatisaqueen · 20/04/2023 10:14

Johnstone's Oatcake in east facing bedroom - a bit beige / a warm bare plaster colour, and went on really well. I love it!

RJnomore1 · 20/04/2023 10:16

I really want a job naming paints 😁

Housenoob · 20/04/2023 10:19

Craig and Rose Dried Plaster, or Fresh Plaster which is slightly more vibrant. Not sure about blue tones but they are both lovely muted pinks. Dried Plaster is almost more beigey pink which sounds awful but it's very pretty.

CuteOrangeElephant · 20/04/2023 13:23

I have put Pink Ground in my daughter's room. It's amazing, almost peachy and no blue to it.

Thanks so much for this useful advice!

I’ve made a list of all these and I’m going out to Dunelm/ B&Q etc for tester pots shortly!

Johnstones “rosebud” lovely warm pale pink

LoveLabradors · 20/04/2023 19:33

Dulux heritage powder colour. Just painted an east facing bedroom with it.

Martinisarebetterdirty · 20/04/2023 19:33

Elle decoration stitch in time is lovely but a fair bit paler than the ones you’ve posted.

GlowG · 20/04/2023 20:37

Thank you so much for your ideas. I had a good look and really tried to take the advice of going more coral-ly in the hope that the ENE light will cool it. Unfortunately there’s not much going in the way of testers but I did manage to get some. Current forerunner which looks rather nice on the wall is a GoodHome one of all things, in shade Sakai.

Dunelm’s Sugar Rose also looks quite nice. I’ll see how they are in the morning!

I'd recommend valspar. I just bought like a boss which is a light pink to do a wall this weekend. They had tons of pinks from purple / blue ones to red or orange tones.

cluefu · 20/04/2023 21:04

I have some of my bedroom in B & Q / Good Homes 'Kyoto' and it's a really lovely pink but not too in your face

wheresmymojo · 20/04/2023 21:37

This is what the ChatGPT AI bot says...

For a warmer pale pink, you might want to try Farrow & Ball's Pink Ground. It's a soft pink with a warm undertone that can make the room feel cozy and inviting. Another option is Benjamin Moore's First Light, which is a soft and warm pale pink with a hint of peach undertones.
If you prefer a slightly more muted pink, you could also try Little Greene's Pink Slip or Dulux's Timeless Pink. Both of these shades have a subtle warmth to them that can complement the natural light in an east-northeast facing room.
It's always a good idea to test a few different shades in your space before committing to one, as the lighting and other elements in the room can affect how the color appears. Good luck with your search for the perfect pale pink!

Wow this is the future! Grin The Little Greene Pink Slip looks like it has potential, I wonder why I didn’t see that one. I also want to try to find a tester for Crown creme de la rose recommend unthread as that too looks like an interesting curveball! Two more for the list. A job for tomorrow!

I tried F&B Pink Ground in an east-facing room and it came out as very orange-peachy shade. I think my house is weird about F&B though, the colours rarely work out.

Dulux Blush worked out well in that context- warm, pale pink, no violet pigment in there. I've never come across Johnstone's Oatcake in my many experiments with pinks, definitely one to try - I'm looking for pinks that head towards taupe/beige shades when I use it. No sugar, no violet!
