New kitchen=Freezer or storage space?

I am getting a new kitchen. Currently living in a one bed flat so space is rather limited! Galley kitchen.
What would you find more useful?

Option 1: A separate under counter fridge and separate under counter freezer, both integrated (No space in kitchen for a tall fridge/freezer)

Option 2: One combined undercounter fridge/freezer, (integrated) with the freezer shelf up top leaving space for another cupboard for storage next to it, but obviously then providing very limited freezer space.

I don't use the freezer much as eat mostly fresh and could probably manage without but I'm also thinking of resale and would I regret it if I ever needed to put more than a bag of frozen chips in there?

Being a 1 bed it's likely never going to have more than 2 people in at a time (though the family of 4 in the flat above me have already disproved that!)

I wouldn't want to buy somewhere without a decent freezer, but I batch cook so mine is always in use.

Any idea how long you're going to be in the flat for? I tend to think you should make your home suitable for you rather than theoretical future buyers, but if you're planning on selling in a few years I can see how they are more of a concern.

I'd put the combined fridge with small freezer shelf in, as we don't use the freezer much either. If I was buying your place without a freezer, I'd be thinking it's easy enough to put one in one of the cupboard spaces.

My single friend moans about his freezer shelf in his under counter fridge/freezer, as he can hardly fit anything in there.

Maybe try living with just one shelf in your freezer for a bit to see if you can manage this way.

I assume your fridge space would also be reduced if combined? I'd go for both.

Is it easy to go from a cupboard to an integrated appliance? Do you need a special door or can you use the cupboard one?
