Renting and blown windows

I have been trying to work out who is responsible but also what I should do in this scenario. So many windows have blown at the property we are renting recently. Our LL is pretty rubbish. Last time we had an inspection they mentioned they had to set a few things right but haven't heard back and that was ages ago.

This year to date about 10 windows are now blown and can't see out a few and tbh it's so unsightly too. Is there any hope for me the LL may have to pay? If it was my home I'd just get them sorted but seems so pointless paying for someone else's property to have new windows put in at my expense!

I bought a flat and maintenance of the windows was covered in the service charges. The flat I have now, I pay for it. It depends on the lease but your landlord is responsible for the windows to be fixed.

LL should have to pay for blown windows i think. But our landlord got a quote and still hasn't done it! We aren't staying much longer so aren't bothered, and it was only 1 window. I'm not sure about your rights to force them to fix them but you'd think they would considering it seems to be a lot of them!

You shouldn't deal with it - imagine replacing the windows then being told the tenancy isn't going to be renewed.

However, much as it is ideal to have the units repaired or replaced, the house still works, so I'd say not an urgent repair. Does the landlord know? If not, mention it. If they know and aren't doing anything about the windows or other issues, how would you feel about moving?

Thanks it's not urgent but the rent is a lot of money to me and I'm feeling a bit down about not seeing out the window!
LL doesn't seem to care I have said that it's undoubtedly also pushed my heating bills up. They say they'll send someone to look then don't.

I have only been here 1.5 years after being served a section 21 because previous LL wanted to sell really don't want to move again already but also wouldn't mind having windows I can see out of and that don't have water dripping down them all the time!

OP I know this post is a couple of weeks old now so hope you're sorted. You shouldnt have to do this by the way but some LL are crap and it often gets you what you need. If you have a letting agent please approach them at this point, if not, put in writing to the LL that since he has not actioned your requests to send someone out to look at the windows (requests dated X Y and Z) you will be getting 3 quotes for the work from Fensa registered fitters and providing them to him, which you will expect to be undertaken. Say if the LL has a preferred supplier he should notify you within 7 days and you will ensure you receive a quote from them.

Don't replace the windows- but make it impossible for him to make excuses not to do it either.
