we are a family of 4 with young kids. Which has would you buy?

House A
in a cul-de-sac
Ultilty room, kitchen, lounge/dining room and conservatory
4 bedrooms, 2 doubles, 2 singles
garden is on a slope.

house B
up a quiet road
large kitchen diner, lounge
3 double bedrooms
flat green lawn but possibly not quite as big as house A.

house B is £50,000 cheaper.
Both in the same village.

A flat garden for kids is a real plus

2 small bedrooms guessing with a single bed in each v 3 double

Is b garden big. Could you build a conservatory /utility room without losing much of garden.

It has a garage on the side. It’s whether we’d convert that to be a utility room with snug/office/playroom.

We don’t particularly need a garage.

My DC loved our slopey garden when they were young. Riding bikes down the slopes as well as sledges when there's snow.

Unfortunately it wouldn’t be big enough for this. I reckon it would take 5 big strides to get from the bottom of the slope to the top…

We have had 3 different opinions on the electrics. 1 said terrible, 1 said fine and the other looked at the reports and reckoned it would be ok. It’s made me unsure of who to believe.

Current owners have had no problems but I worry that it would be in the back of my mind…

Well someone's professional opinion's leading you up the garden path, because the electrics at the house can't be both fine and terrible. Did the 'terrible' report come with a quote for fixing it?

How old is the property and has it been extended or modified at all? ie parts of the house with updated electrics

Electrician #1
Said it was a mess of electrics and would cost £10k to fix. Wrote a report with the official things that were wrong but when we asked for advice he said things weren’t where they should be etc.

Electrician #2
Fixed 3 things from the report and said all was fine. All sorted apparently for under £1k

Forgot to say.

It’s not been extended. It’s from the 80s. a previous owner was an electrician and did things their own way I think so not standard installation.
