Has anyone fit their own kitchen before? Wondering if it’s doable for us!

We have ordered a kitchen from Wren, all the units and cupboards are built.. we just need it to be fitted.

We don’t have work tops as we’re getting them from elsewhere and they will be fitted by that company.

The kitchen is of medium size. No plumbing or electrics needed. We’ve been quoted £2.5k by a kitchen fitter and think it’s a bit steep.. that’s £500 a day for 5 days work.. if that.

I wondered if anyone on here has fitted their own kitchen? We have the tools to do it..

Yes we did. Need a plunge saw and about 49 spirit levels. And make sure you pencil everything on the wall before you go ahead and start hanging cupboards

DH did ours (Ikea flatpack(. Was easy, but time consuming. So long as you dont rush it, your room has square-enough corners, and you have instructions with units, then its perfectly do-able. And youll take better care dojbg it than a wren kitchen fitter would! Youll need an electrician to connect new oven, and possibly a pkumber for the sink.

An architect told us that there wasn’t much to tell between all the different kitchen manufacturers (as in wren/ikea/Howdens type quality) but that the quality of the fitting would make a big difference. Don’t know how true that is, but I can see that getting things exactly lined up, drawers perfectly hanging etc would matter.

There will be a million videos on Youtube of kitchen fitting, including Wren. I agree about square corners and hopefully your walls are relatively straight. If you are having worktops made to measure then this makes your life much easier. You can wedge packers between the cabinet and the wall if needed.

We learned a lot from watching a variety of YouTube videos on everything from electrics to plumbing, fitted our own bathrooms, tiled, flooring etc.

It will take longer than you think, you may need to borrow or buy tools, a laser level will be your best friend. Take your time. Research and good luck.

I think if you're not messing with plumbing and electrics, and someone else is fitting the worktop it will be totally doable.

My and my dad fitted mine, the majority of the trouble was cutting the hole in the (solid wood) worktop. The next most stressful bit was the plumbing.

We built the cupboards from flat pack and the building and fitting still really wasn't that bad.

Just looked on YouTube, there are Wren ones which include their own packer, the orange adjustable plastic thing that you screw through. Decent wall fittings are a must to secure it especially wall cabinets.

Piss easy the only difficult but is the worktops
you’ve already made the right choice of getting they company who supplies them to fit them

it’s time consuming and fiddly think wren come preassembled
