Vendors pulled out

My vendors have just pulled out.

I suspected they might. Apparently house buying is more expensive than they realised.

Not much help to those of us getting divorced and finding themselves with the budget to buy half a friggin house but needing a full one.

My buyers have been patiently waiting since late Jan and here we are again.

There's nothing on the market. Got two viewings of houses that aren't right but I should see anyway lined up for tomorrow. Already mentally moving self and toddler into rented to keep my sale.

Booooooooooooo.

But 2 months in wont they already have a bill for their Solicitor?

Sorry OP thats so rubbish.
Just a warning that rentals are crazy where I live, can hardly get anything and they go ASAP, so if going down that route Id start looking now.

Happened to us twice at late stage. So so so annoying. I’m sorry.

RollerCoaster2020 · 05/04/2023 15:57

Probably best to start looking at rented..

LividHouse · 06/04/2023 12:56

Thanks. My estate agent keeps saying my buyers will wait but ugh.

Viewed two houses today. One that ticked a lot of boxes (ie cheap) but STANK of dog, like you’ve never smelled dog before.

I’m allergic to dog. Had to leave a buy Piriton.

Can’t offer on said house now because there’s no way I could do the work required to rip out everything, bleach it and start again, all with a consuming job and a toddler in tow. Oh, and no spare money.

(((((((The house I lived in before marriage was so nice. Why did I get married and leave my lovely house and buy a lovely big one and now have to get divorced and look at stink houses)))))))

If you thought the Stinking house ticked lots of boxes then why don't you make a silly low offer. Lots of people will have thought URGH dog stink just like you and so they might be glad of an offer. If they accept then perhaps you could use the money to pay someone like an odd job man or cleaning firm to rip out the stinking stuff and clean from top to toe.

My friend bought the stinkiest dog pee smelling flat. Carpets were horrendous. Took us a short time to make it lovely and she's so happy there now.

Hope all works out for you. I'm moving too. Stressful times.

Windingdown · 07/04/2023 21:36

OH, should have added. I eventually did move into rented. It's costing me a stupid amount to stay in a place that's in poor condition and 7 months later I'm still struggling to find a place to buy. I would definitely have been better off financially buying something stinky 7 months ago.

Negotiate the price for the dog house. You could get professional cleaners in.

Or rent. I'm renting and whilst it hasn't been that good because prices went up now it would be advantageous because prices are dropping.

It will work out!

Thanks. I fear dog house might be beyond professional cleaning and into ripping out floorboard territory, which I just don’t have capacity for.

Have another viewing on Wednesday but it’s on a main road and half a mile further up a hill than I’d like to be, which might be dealbreakers but won’t know until I see it in the flesh.
