Pulled out of a house sale today. Feeling glum. Please tell me I did the right thing.

Got the final paperwork though and noted a disagreement between previous tenant and neighbour.

Turns out the police were called several times for the neighbour (still lives next door to the house I wanted) due to alcohol/ noise and drugs miss use.

It was a lovely wee place, nice and close to family in the north.

I don't want to risk living next to this idiot though do i? He won't change.

Hi @KievLoverTwo there was one comment on the TA6 form. Everyone tried to play it down, but it just felt wrong so I went and knocked on the neighbour the other side of the bad neighbour - he told me all the details re weed and the police being called.

Ah, see our vendors just lied on the form and thought they could get away with it. In fact, they lied all throughout the forms. If you're gonna lie to sell your house, make sure what you tell people at viewings and what's on your TA6 matches up, dumbarses!

I do the 'find random person near house, ask what it's like to live on this road' thing. Last time I did that, the woman pointed me to about 20 houses that would good to live in, 5 that have known subsidence issues including one that was for sale, and about 100 others that would just be rough for varying reasons.

It's always valuable talking to locals!

You made the right decision, I would do the same.

One of my DCs bought 6 months ago, perfect terraced house, and when all the guff came back there had been a 'dispute' that had actually gone legal but was resolved with some damages being paid out by NDN. It was something to do with damage to a party wall in the loft.

DC went ahead and they're as happy as anything, with no problem with this NDN, they just smile and say good morning. I imagine it was something that got a bit out of hand but was resolved.

I do feel sorry for the seller, so hard to sell if there is a nightmare NDN. Right decision though!
