How long before a reduction to price

We are going to view a house this weekend that has been on for 280k for 2 months. Obviously we will have to find out the position with the sellers etc and any issue with the property. But assuming everything is okay, in your experience/thoughts, how long would your property need to be on the market for without much serious interest before you either dropped the price or accepted a lower offer?
For context, the house prices in the area have been around 280k for mid 2021/2022, prior to this they were probably more around 240k average.
Thank you!

We’ve been on the market 6 weeks and had lots of views but no offers. We lowered the price by 10k yesterday (5%). However, we aren’t after the highest possible price and are very flexible. We just want to move! We tried to make an offer on a house that had been on the market for 6 months and they wouldn’t take a penny below asking and were happy to wait until they got that offer. I guess it all depends on the seller!

Some people never drop their price and the property stays on the market for years. Depends on the seller motivation.

I’m on at £475k I’d reduce or take an offer over £460 - I’d already built a “discount” situation into the marketing price. Won’t do it yet though it’s only been 3 weeks - I’d want to wait at least 8 weeks and possibly take it to 12.

I’d never offer the asking, always offer below. ESP at the moment. Estate agents price with the assumption you’ll get offers under

Where I am people are marking higher than the usual going price and then dropping so it looks like they are being reduced. A lot are just sitting tight despite 6 months plus on market.
