Vinyl floor fitting soon but slightly raised skirting in places?

I don't know if anyone can offer any advice on this. We have had new skirtings installed and are due to have vinyl flooring soon. In some areas the skirting is slightly raised in appearance. Is this likely to look rubbish once the floor is down as vinyl is only 3mm? Would you do anything about these gaps?

Not sure if it's due to the floor not being level or whether fitting could have been done better.

See pic!

See how it looks once down. You could pop some caulk or silicone under the raised bits if it still looks really noticeable.

That looks perfectly acceptable to me. Some floors are a lot more wonky and will have way bigger gaps. If the new flooring is going down on top of the floor in the photo all of your gaps will be 3mm smaller once fitted and if that's your biggest gap I don't think there is anything to worry about.

The floor is a bit wonky, ( they mostly are ) if you were having carpet then it wouldn’t be a problem but as your not there might still be a gap after the floor is down . It looks like that gap is bigger than it seems on the picture?

if the fitter knew you were having vinyl then he could have scribed it to the floor, which is more work and probably more cost ? It all depends on if you told him carpet or vinyl I suppose.

ideally the skirting after the vinyl would have been the best way.

My skirting boards are gappy. I've grown to love the wonkiness of them.

I would go round afterwards with some sealant (also deprives spiders of their hidey holes).

If you are having LVT, then surely the layout will mask the gap ?

Basically you will add an underlay 2mm or so to lay the tiles on, then normally the tiles lay to within either 10 mm of the edge of the room to allow expansion or under the skirting boards in which case you will have to remove and reattach the skirting boards anyway.

If you lay to within 10 mm of the boards then you will add trim to make up the gap between the floor and the boards which will mask the gap you show, which doesn't look 3mm.

What's probably of more concern is if the floor isn't level, because that will stress the joints in the LVT.

We have a little trim round the bottom of the skirting which covers the gap
