We're finally getting round to sorting out the roof space of the house we moved into a couple of years ago.
The roof space looks a bit like the photo attached (not as big, and the slopes bits meet at a point rather than having a flat bit of ceiling.
The sloped parts have insulation in between the wood. It's been floored and there's insulation under the floor.
There's a pile of drywall sheets which was there when we moved in (I'll check for definite that that's what they are, but I'm fairly sure). It looks like the plan was to attach the sheets to the wooden beams to make a nice smooth wall, so I plan to complete that job.
It doesn't matter too much about it being super neat, as long as it's not awful. There are no sockets or anything to work around; I can't see pipes or cables either, but obviously will check carefully before doing anything.
Do I just buy drywall screws and attach the sheets to the beams using an ordinary drill? And then put some of that tape stuff over the joins? Then a wee layer of something to cover the tape, and then paint it?
Is there anything I need to be careful about or anything else I need to do? I'll probably just paint it a plain colour afterwards; if it's a bit rough I might wallpaper it. It'll just be used for storage, though, so it doesn't matter too much.
Any tips?
