Ideas for off-centre light fitting

We recently converted our garage into a small cosy. There was already a light in the room so we thought we would get a nice modern fitting to cover it. However once all the work was completed we realised that the light is off-centre. I called an electrician out today who said there would be damage to the ceiling if we moved the light and I would have to get the ceiling plastered again. That's something I dont want to do.

Can anyone give me any ideas on what kind of fitting I could have in the room which could perhaps disguise the fact that the light is off centre? My ceilings are low so I dont want anything too low down and I am open to LED lighting as well.

Thanks in advance.

is it very off centre or just a bit off centre? Very off you make a feature of it, a bit off a suitably large fitting out the modern equivalent of coving to shunt it to the centre

It's a bit off centre. Do you have an example of a large fitting that would make it look central?

So something like this

the base plate is 60cm so you could move the ‘centre’ by 30cm but only if it’s ‘off’ along a room axis

or this

would get you 25cm in any direction

This is a ceiling rose which basically achieves the same as above but you can use any standard light fitting

you might need to lengthen the wires or cut a new hole in the ceiling for them, but it won’t show and is way less disruptive than replastering.

It should do

It's a bit off centre.
Will anybody actually notice once the room is furnished?
Make the room non-symmetric. Put in a distraction like a tall plant or a standard lamp.
