hi all, just bought a Victorian house and thinking of getting the original floorboards renovated downstairs. Lounge / dining room. I have no time to do this, does anyone have an idea about what I should expect to pay for this to be done?

Huge disparity depending on the situation. What stare are the original boards in? Do you need replacement/ repairs? Etc

Unless there is something wrong with the boards just get them sanded and polished. Whatever you do don’t paint them, so much work when someone else moves in and wants to restore them. Plus, it looks awful. One of our neighbours just painted their sitting room boards white. Looks like a beach hut

@mastertomsmum this has made me laugh. They just need a sand and varnish, I’m not sure approx how much this should cost me? An idea per square mtr or how much it cost other would give ma starting point hopefully.

@dreamersdown the boards are sound. Minimal repair but had lino over them so a good sand def needed

No idea why this would make you laugh. Any other floor covering possibility will cost you more.
