DIY-K: Helmsley, Stanbury, Norton or Linwood?

I can’t decide!
They all look lovely but are similar looking with slightly differing units available that it is making my head spin.
I would like shaker, painted wood so can be repainted in the future.

Can anyone help me to pick one of them?

Thanks everyone for your input and I love the photos.

I don’t understand the dust magnet issue with the bottom ledge. Where/what is the bottom ledge? We don’t have one on our current shaker - below the cupboard door or bottom drawer is the kick board

The bottom of the inset panel in the shaker doors.

Oh I see - I am obviously a sloven as I have never noticed this with our shaker, but we don’t have dogs so many be that compounds the issue.

Hi Skippy,
We are considering Norton but concerned that the doors seem to have gaps around the shaker 4 pieces around the edge (sorry not a good description!) - does this crack harbour dirt at all? Thank you so much for any guidance!

Hi Stastically Challenged - did you mean that the Stanbury shows all marks? I'm concerned about Norton's 'dust and dirt magnet' at the bottom ledge of doors, so considering Stanbury as it doesn't have the gap, but don't want every finger mark showing either!! Any thoughts so welcome - thanks in advance!

Hi @lambethmother, not sure what you mean. We went for Norton partly because it's the least "fussy" shaker range. No gaps, grooves, or ridges.

We've just come back from the showroom, and the Norton seems to have a slight gap between the door itself and the shaker panels that create the shaker frame on the door - not a great explanation, but I think someone else mentioned it as an issue on this thread and we were surprised when we got to the showroom to see that there does seem to be a bit of a 'gap' which I'd have thought would collect dirt? Thanks for your thoughts.

These are the bits which gather dust & dog hairs on mine - although I think without the dogs it wouldn't be an issue.
They also need cleaning atm as my DPs dog has been here for a couple of days and he sheds v short coarse hairs regularly, and slobbers all the time 🙄

We're a few months in with our Norton and don't seem to have any dirt traps. There's the ledge but stanbury has that too.

We were doing a dark colour and the stanbury tester showed every finger mark.

lambethmother · 14/12/2023 19:06

Thank you so much, StasticallyChallenged. I was thinking of Cashmere, so a pale colour. I thought that the Stanbury's 'ridge' was curved and with no crack so may be a safer option, but a couple of people have mentioned that finger marks may show on the Stanbury... Thank you for your thoughts, much appreciated!

We have both light and dark units in our Norton. I haven't noticed any dirt traps on either colour. We don't have pets though.
