Can anyone recommend some Garden Festoon lights?

I am looking for a set where you can replace the bulbs if they go so we don't have to get rid of the whole set.

Would love to see some pictures too! I am not sure if I want them around the perimeter of the garden of if I would like them to swag diagonally across the garden. Any inspiration welcome!

i have nice solar ones

I have the exact same ones - I'd highly recommend them.

These are really good. You can add lengths together and replace the bulbs. I like that the bulbs are a good size- a lot of festoon lights seem to have piddly little bulbs.

I've been eyeing these up: www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/LTH10WW.html

They aren't solar powered - they're a much simpler product which just plugs in, so you will need an accessible socket - but the price is great!

Not to be that person, bit can I ask that you get some that turn off after a number of hours/you can turn off?

Garden lights can be really disruptive to garden insects and small mammals, which then causes disruption for up the food chain, like bats, foxes and owls

I used these for some light up marquee letters and you can change the bulbs.

@Unbridezilla we would probably only be using them for when we have guests over and want to use the garden in the evening- then they would be switched off :)

Thank you for the links, I will go and have a look

It's not entirely clear from the link, but those look like they're old-school incandescent filament bulbs, not LEDs. With 25 lights at 7W each you're looking 175 watts, which is quite a lot of energy to be using to light (and actually mostly heat) the garden!

Good point about only having the lights on when needed, @Unbridezilla - thanks. That probably sways me in favour of using plug-in lights over solar ones. I'm not really sure there's a lot of point in having individual lights with their own solar panels/batteries anyway, versus just running them off the whole-house electrical system which will increasingly include centralised solar and battery backup. To me, the solar lights only seem to make sense where there isn't access to a mains supply. Otherwise it's needless cost and more to go wrong.

I have had loads over the years. Lighting Legends are the absolute best.

Those solar ones linked above- I spent £400 on various sets, all failed after a year of use, although they are fab when they do work.
