where to put the shower head

hi folks

I am getting a large shower installed in place of my bath, it will be about 1700 x 700 with sliding doors

I am thinking of putting the shower head on the 1700 wall instead of the 700 wall which is the normal end , however if I have 1700 wide I think its better on the wider wall

there will be tiles on three walls with only sliding doors on the whole of the non tiled wall

thoughts welcome

Waits for the inevitable.

Will the water then be hitting the sliding doors and there be more of a risk of it seeping out?
It would also mean you are standing facing the glass if you are running water over the back of your hair, I like to have space in front of me, I’d hate to feel I was up against the glass. Have you stood in the space and done your showering actions to see how you feel? What about shaving legs & things?

is the sliding door on the short or long end? Does the shower ‘aim’ to the wall or the shower screen? Where will the shampoo/shower gel be stored? Is there a shelf, it should be near the shower head.

Up your arse.

Someone has to. And I've had a drink so that someone was me.

Your plumber will be surprised to put the shower anywhere other than the most ‘enclosed’ wall.

IFIY have a fixed head and also a hand held dual unit, much more useful especially when cleaning the tray.

We're re-doing 2 bathrooms and doing this with both showers.
Our bathroom planner recommended it as it gives more space when washing your hair. We never would have thought of it, but once I stood in a long shower enclosure in the bathroom shop and pretended to wash my hair it was lots better with the shower head on the longer wall. Maybe try that if you haven't already and see how you feel?
We're having an offset enclosure, with doors on the corner on one cubicle and sliding door along the long side with the other.
So many things to think about- good luck!

But if you're not washing your air and want to stand back a little you wouldn't have much room.
If it was more than 700 deep then it might work, but I don't think 700 is enough.
I have a 1700 x 700 shower.

Washing your hair, obviously.

I'd not thought about the 700.... ours are planned to be 800 on the short side. That extra 10cm would make a difference in feeling enclosed, you're right.

Ours are on the short side. If you're washing your hair with your back to the screen it's going to need a lot more cleaning.
