Is it possible to convert normal does into sliding doors by adding the right hardware to the top and bottom? Thanks

Where do you think they are going to slide to if they are in a doorframe?

I'm not sure how you envisage it working?

We have a sliding door in an awkward spot where there wouldn't be room for a normal opening door, but we had to built out the wall to create a pocket for it to slide into (Google pocket sliding door)

The alternative to a pocket door could be a barn door but again you would need completely new fixings and I they are usually used for wider openings I think, where a traditional door wouldn't work.

I have double sliding doors already so the fixtures are already on the ceiling. But I am struggling to find replacement doors so was wondering if it was an option to buy normal, double (hinged) doors and just add a track to the doors themselves? I might need to skim them to fit but is this an option?

When I had pocket doors put in, the doors themselves were just normal doors.

Yeah our pocket sliding doors were just normal doors.

I think people are getting confused here - are you talking about doors that slide on a track above the doorframe (eg barn doors) or pocket doors (doors that slide into the wall)?
