Bathroom install cost

Has anyone recently had a like for like bathroom fitted (ie everything in the same place?) who wouldn’t mind telling me how much you paid?

I need a bath/sink and toilet plumbed plus tiling but could do the job in stages.

Just wondering if I’m looking at hundreds or thousands!

It all depends how posh your fittings are. I just paid 12k but 5k of that was handmade tiles.

We are due to have one installed next week and fully tiled around £8k

Ah way out of budget thanks everyone!

I have seen a suite for £600 to buy which is affordable…but I didn’t know how much it would be to have it installed etc.

The install will be more expensive than the £600 suite, factor in the cost of the tiles, these don’t have to be expensive. Can you remove the existing tiles to save money? Finding a reliable plumber can be a bit of a pain at the moment tbh. I expect you would be looking at £1.5k - £2k or so for fitting, usually takes about a week.

We just did 2 bathrooms, the fitting came to over 10k but included completely restructuring the ceilings, walls, floors, electrics, pipe work, THEN the fixtures and fittings.

PurBal · 12/03/2023 17:22

Our quotes came in between £10k (we got the suite and tiles ourselves) and £16k (all done for us). Just finished it and was £10.5k. Need to paint (half tiled) and will do that ourselves. Fitting was £6k and took 3 weeks. Bathroom has both bath and shower.

PurBal · 12/03/2023 17:25

Sorry, I meant that the total cost including suite and fitting was £10-16. But that just the fitting was £6k.

Isanyholeagoal · 12/03/2023 17:35

I’ve just had mine done for £2250. £300 on tiles + £700 for tiler which included grout and corners. We took off old tiles ourselves and had a friend sand and re plaster the walls for £250. Then bathroom suite we got for £500 and paid a plumber we have used for our new boiler and he charged £400 to fit suite and put towel rail in (did it in a few hours) then £100 for a mastic man

it can be done cheap if you know the right people

Reallybadidea · 12/03/2023 17:36

If you're literally just swapping a suite out like for like, just newer, it should be relatively inexpensive. Maybe get some quotes from a few local plumbers and see what they say?

Kdub · 12/03/2023 17:40

We have just done ours for 3k. Shower cubicle, toilet, vanity unit and sink, ceiling cladding, flooring and wet wall panels which are cheaper then tiling. One quote was over 6k for the exact same!

EstherHazy · 12/03/2023 17:57

Think there's quite a lot regional variation going on here!

We done ours in December 2021, same layout mainly and bought the suite from Travis Perkins & vanity units from B&Q. New window, tiles from floor to ceiling, new flooring and cost about £2500 altogether. My husband & dad done all the work though so we had no tradesmen apart from the window.

CocoonofDavid · 12/03/2023 19:16

We had ours done a few weeks ago. It’s a small bathroom 1.8x2m.

I provided tiles (full wall around the bath, half wall one wall and one row above sink unit), bath, shower screen, sink unit/loo, lino.

He provided shower unit, grouting and corner bits, all labour inc replastered ceiling and installed spotlights.

He charged about £7.5k (can’t remember figure off the top of my head).
