Reporting neighbours wood burner

About 3 months ago my neighbour had wood burner installed . From day it has totally stank, a sort of overpowering acrid smell accompanied by black smoke. I can't hang my washing up, or open bathroom window when have shower or even just sit in my living room as comes through vents.
I have spoken to them but it didn't go down well and nothing has changed.
Everyone says to report but is there really any point?
TLDR is there any point reporting my neighbours wood burner?

From a different angle, I’d contact Building Control, their chimney should be a certain distance from and above the roof. From your photo it looks too close.

Have you got a brain ???

the wind blows the smoke all around the surrounding area ( including in peoples houses )

I would report it. Will the council do anything about it ? I don't know. If they do do something about it, will they enforce it ? I don't know that either.

What I do know is that every time someone complains, it increases the probability that these things will either be banned, or the emissions from them will be better controlled/policed.

Of course the consequences are that your report may not make your neighbours too happy, plus it may lead to you having to report a dispute.

If there are other people in the area that are similarly annoyed, it may be worth putting in a complaint at the same time as them.

Hi
@Smallngrumpy l’ve just come across your post and everything you've discussed is exactly what we’re suffering! I’m keen to know if you complained and got anywhere? 🙏🏼
