Plumbing question - water pipes for dishwasher

We just moved house, there was no dishwasher but previous owner said there is plumbing for one in a space under the stairs. Took delivery of dishwasher today but AO said they couldn't install as the pipes were "wrong".
See photo, the white pipe as I understood should be the drain pipe, and the other metal pipes previous owner said we're hot and cold water inlet - can anyone tell what the issue is?
(I didn't get to ask AO people questions as wasn't at home for delivery, husband was.)
Will try to find a local plumber but as we are new to the area it's hard to find someone trustworthy, so thought I'd try and get some input is possible. Any help appreciated! 😬I really hate washing up and feeling gutted! 😂

The copper pipes look to have ‘end stops’ on them rather than a fixing for the flexible hoses used for a washing machine.

as an aside I thought washing machines only plumbed into cold water these days.

The white plastic drain pipe … comparing to our own yours lies flat on the floor, ours is vertical and the washing machine ( LG ) has a pipe which hooks into the white waste pipe.

I think the reason it to provide a ‘U’ bend to prevent waste water coming back into the machine.

Dishwashers are cold fill only. There should be taps on the end of the inlet pipes to attach dw to and usually a u fitting for the outlet.

Pipework looks to be there, but not the correct fittings
I would think the waste pipe also will need some modification.

These have been capped off.

AO, or any other retailer are only ever going to connect to. Ready to go fittings....

As others have said, the pipes you have are all blanked off. The installation service from an appliance supplier will be based on there being suitable connection points for the hoses that come with the dishwasher/washing machine to connect to. It sounds like you need a plumber to set the pipework up properly for you. This should be a quick easy job for someone - no more than an hour's work, and the parts needed shouldn't cost much. As to the cost, maybe ~£50 or so for the parts, tops, plus whatever the going rate is for a call-out fee and an hour's labour (so about £500 all in, then - joking, but only a little bit!).

The hardest part may well be to find someone who can do the work ASAP. Unless you have a regular plumber on speed dial, I'd probably email a few local ones with the photo and a brief explanation of what you need (e.g., I need this pipework modified to connect a dishwasher, please).

Your chances of finding someone will be greatly increased if you can be flexible about timing/ For instance, if you work from home and they can drop round any time if another job finishes earlier than expected or is delayed starting, say this. No decent plumber will be excited about this job, but if they're round the corner and have an hour free they might as well earn a few extra pounds!

Thank you all!

Pull out your washing machine. What you have there - copper pipe up to the tap where the bendy pipe from the machine connects to, and white/grey pipe which the flexible tube from the machine is shoved into... that's what you need for the dishwasher!!

By the look of what you have you need a plumber to put some connections into what's there and you'll be fine.
