Hi
I'm looking at a rental property tomorrow. I'm desperate to move as im living with my ex, and he's being awful to me. There is another thread about that..

Its ideal space wise and price wise, for me and my 3 young children. The kitchen diner leads to this garden, so I'd love to be able to throw the patio doors open and the kids be able to come in and out as they please. The neighbours on the other side dont have a fence either so i definitely need to put some kind of boundary, even if its just big potted plants. As other wise they can get out on to the road.

The neighbours have right of way over the back garden, so I'm guessing I need something, with a gate, or something easily movable.

Also, I've put a picture of the front of the property, it has a driveway, of which I don't drive, so another outside space I could use. The views from here are pretty good too. This has walls either side, but maybe potted plants idea for the front too?

The immediate road is very quiet, but slightly further down there's a busy road which is why I want to secure it as much as I can bit which the landlord would be happy with?

Would love any ideas on how to pretty it up, as other than this it's a solid house with lots of space indoors, all clean and newly painted etc.

Thanks 🙏🙏🙏

Both areas just need a good pressure wash to brighten them up really. Maybe some whitewash for the walls

Temporary fencing is difficult as it doesn't tend to stay up. There is Heras fencing, but it's industrial and not pretty but has the advantage of being movable. You might want to work out what the right of way looks like in practice - are they bringing bins through once a week, walking through daily or do they never actually use it. That might inform your options more effectively?

We recently created some temporary fencing using some planters with trellis attached and filled with stones to weigh them down. See picture attached.

its not clear on the pictures what you want to fence in. is is just the area with the yellow-ish tiles and the word 'boundary'?

for that, the planters that @DialSquare has shown would be ideal. you could then have a little area where kids can play safely.

argos has them on sale at the moment

go for the new house & hope you enjoy it.
