That’s it really…. Small en-suite needs ripping out and replacing. Shower cubicle, tiling, toilet, sink and a new radiator. Very small amount of flooring to be replaced. I have no clue on costs so please let me know what yours cost

I' think you'll be looking at around £5K depending on price point of sanitaryware.

Frankcapa · 22/02/2023 23:13

Thank you. I was hoping for 4k but hey!

I e been quoted £10k and £7.5k. I think that’s far too much.

We've just had a shower room built from scratch so foundations, building costs, building regs, plastering, electrics, plumbing etc. Toilet, sink and shower, plus tiling and painting. 9.5k all in.

Our new bathroom (ripped back to brickwork) and redone completely cost 2.5k 18 months ago.

I'm sure 4k is manageable, easy if you can do some work yourselves.

It probably depends where you live though. We are in East Anglia.

My partner is a bathroom fitter and charges 3k labour for a full rip out and re-do. We are Yorkshire based. The rest of the cost depends on the price of suite/tiles etc you want. Most come in at around 5-7k. Some bigger bathrooms with high end suites, niches, built in furniture are just shy of 10k. This involves going right back to brick/block, making right all pipework, fresh plaster to ceilings, being boarded and tanked to British standards etc. You will get some that are around the 3-4k mark but are often rushed with poor prep, use those awful plastic panels and cladding on the ceiling. I short they won't last. We have been brought in to put right some absolute abominations so it's definitely something I would do my research over and look at lots of previous work/photos and get recommendations from friends who have used the same person.

Between £5/6k and £10k depending on quality of sanitary ware. Either way the fitting costs will be the same/similar so even if you bought cheap Chinese sanitary ware (say £1500?), you could be looking at £4k ish to fit depending on complexity. Stuff like herringbone tiling takes considerably longer and is more fiddly to do than metro tiles, for example.

I’m in East Anglia and paid around 6k last year.

It really depends on whether you are replacing or moving about. If reconfiguring, pipe work will have to be altered which will make it more expensive. Would try and get a word of mouth recommendation for a fitter too.
