Hi, I’m looking to move from a small town in north west England, no preference on where but it must have:

community groups eg. Homeschooling and autistic children’s groups
Good public transport
a balance between city life and the outdoors, accessible outdoor spaces
culture - museums and galleries that are child friendly
a creative vibe/community

thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Pointless mentioning london which is not really that accessible to most people due to prices.

Yes and no. We know where OP is coming from but not what her rent / home ownership situation is. They could own a huge house in the NW which could buy them something smaller in London.

Some parts of London are cheaper than others.

Sheffield has a thriving home ed community and several large and small parent groups for children and young adults with Sen.

The list in the OP is a spot-on description of Bristol. You might also consider Cardiff but the different education and qualification systems might be tricky to negotiate if you are home-educating.

Is budget a barrier/concern? If so an idea of that would help narrow down ideas.

Came on to say Norwich. A small, friendly city - good parks, museums, theatres, close to Broads and glorious beaches. Relatively affordable for housing. A thriving home ed community too.

I don't know what the home-ed and autistic groups are like, but as my username would suggest, what about York? It offers you pretty much everything else on your list.

Hello :) I just wondered if you found somewhere that fit what you were hoping for?
I’d also be keen to know of any places to live that fit those criteria you mentioned.
best wishes
