1930s house - what to put on these walls?!

So we have a house similar to the house plan attached.

I've put mirrors above the fireplaces in both rooms but as of yet neither room has anything on the wall that divides both rooms. Can't put a mirror, too many pictures seems overkill (already pictures on the walls that back onto the hallway)

Send me inspiration! It's always this wall that's missing off Pinterest or Rightmove for ideas!

Bookshelves, pictures, or slim wall shelves for vases of flowers etc.

We have done a picture wall in our lounge, pic attached x

Didn't load, trying again!

Our reception rooms generally have one wall with a big painting/artwork and one with an arrangement of smaller framed things - either family/wedding photos or, in one room, children's artwork (IKEA do A4 frames with hinged fronts, so you can easily swap things in and out).

In my house with same floorplan we have a piano on one wall (in the dining room), with plants and a decorative bowl on top, and on the wall in the lounge we have a wall light in the centre of the wall, because that is the darker end of the room, and to one side of that a group of three pictures with the same colour frames. If your house is exactly the same as the above you could also consider rehanging your doors so they stand open against the dividing wall, rather than into the room (ours are like this).

Console table or similar with tall plants on....

We struggled with this wall too. Spent months trying to find a huge piece of art that we actually liked, rather than stick something up for the sake of it. Ended up with some funky wallpaper and a slim console table with a big plant and a lamp on it.

Ours has a large canvas

A quilt or other textile art is good for filling a large space and adding texture.

How about something that suits the period.

A console table with tut/plant/lovely table light on it.

So in one room there's a small dining table and in the other a sofa. It's more what to put on the wall above them!

One large print doesn't seem to work and yet 2 small prints are getting lost.

Both walls just seem bare and lost.

In our house - 1930s, similar layout, we have a piano against one side of the dividing wall and the sofa is against the other one, with side tables. On both walls we have picture rails and hang about 3-4 large-ish pictures from them. Looks good but not too cluttered as the pictures are themed in colour tones and styles.
