I found a house for sale which is just next to the a park, I can see there are neighbours walking dogs near the house, some are far(30 metres), some are near the house(12 meters), I like dogs but no plan to get one, of course the dogs pee in the woodland, it is just a feeling: a big dogs toilet next the house!
this is very good area, I realized people keep the woodland nice and clean, there are rarely rubbish or plastic bag around.
thanks.

@sanityisamyth clearly a typo that's supposed to say lovely

I live next to a dog walking path and it has been no problem. Do make sure the fence is secure though as initially we did have the odd dog that saw something in our garden and gave chase. Now we have a wire fence until the hedge grows a bit more.

You need to check it out on a summer evening - not helpful - I would ask the neighbours. Someone I know bought a house on the way to the woods - local Ned’s we’re drinking and drug taking at weekends. - even chucking stones at house.

The dog aspect is fine.

But what about the bison?

Take a walk though the woods and also on a Saturday afternoon. See what’s going on.
Personally as a dog owner a wood next door would be perfect.

Dog poo is the bigger problem and it is always at the entrance to any of the field walks near me as exactly as a pp says - owners let their dogs poo immediately out of sight and don't bother clearing it up. Some bag it up and helpfully leave it at the entrance to said walk too. Not sure it would put me off buying somewhere but it certainly pisses me off when I go on walks!

Well, this is mumsnet, so obviously if you see a dog off the lead you'd have to sell your house and move away immediately in case it jumps up at you.

Don't forget the bears. Bears need somewhere to go too
For sure. And nobody likes to be chased out of the woods with a bear behind.

Yep - this. Mum's house is next to woodland and there are usually local lads trying to badly catch rabbits, dogging and air rifles and stuff going on in the woods over the summer months.

Also on the dog walking factor - we have issues with off lead ones being allowed to run up into the garden - we've lost one family cat this way, and it's always a minor concern (major if the kids are out in the garden) - we've had some corkers like "shouldn't live down here if you don't want my dog coming into your garden"
