Block paving on front

Hoping to get our front redone this summer have really old fashioned flag stones at the moment so cant wait to have it done. Wondering if anyone has had theres done recently? We know we want grey block paving but there seems to be a few types. We drive a car over it to get to the garage so need to make sure its not gonna move etc. Anyone got any tips or anything from having theres done? We dont have much spare money and every time we get a job done we end up being giving the wrong advice from people who are meant to know what their taking about so keen to not make that mistake again.

We have that type of brick drive. It looks wonderful. I think quality of bricks and fitting, plus how well it is prepared first is important. We have had it for 5 years and park 3 cars on it all the time. It still looks brand new. No issue with sand, cracks or weeds. When it was laid, we had it sealed, and that has kept it looking good. So I would recommend getting that done (I think dh has since put some sealant on it once, himself).
A neighbour has just had imprinted concrete done. It was done quite quickly and looks good, but I can't comment on how well it lasts. If budget is tight, it might be worth checking on that.

We have block paving front and back and OMG the weeds are hard work. I have a fairly relaxed attitude to it (life's too short and all that) but DH hates the weeds.

I'm not comfortable using weed killer which makes DH's life doubly hard.

The paving was fine for about 5-6 years but then the weed problem started.

I loathe our block paving. If we have it sealed it doesn't drain the water away from the house. The weeds are relentless in the summer. Yes you can spray with weedkiller but many of them are carcenogenic or don't work. Would never, ever but a house with it again. Most of the neighbours have resorted to covering theirs with gravel. But they were fitted years ago I think.
